Ludhiana:PAU Student Wins Best PhD Thesis Award

Rakshit Bhagat, a doctoral scholar in Agronomy at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has earned the Best PhD Thesis Award (2024) at the inaugural International Farming Systems Conference (IFSC-2025). The conference was organised by the Farming Systems Research Development Association (FSRDA) in collaboration with the ICAR–Indian Institute of Farming Systems Research (ICAR-IIFSR).

His recognised research, titled “Nutrient Recycling and System Productivity of Integrated Farming System,” explored key aspects such as nutrient recycling, greenhouse gas emissions, overall system productivity, and sustainability within Integrated Farming Systems (IFS). The study provides valuable insights aimed at improving farming efficiency while promoting environmentally sustainable agricultural practices.

Bhagat’s work is considered a significant contribution toward strengthening sustainable farming models and enhancing long-term agricultural productivity.
